Creating Sustainability Through Recurring Gifts

Creating Sustainability Through Recurring Gifts

Oftentimes we hear the phrase “hard work and dedication” when describing the road to achieving what we desire or sometimes, what we simply need. It doesn’t allude to actions that are easy, but instead implies that the journey to success may be long and formidable. This is certainly true in the work we do at CORRAL. It requires consistent dedication to the mission and to the teens who rely on our programs.

“Commitment is a concept that refers to dedication, loyalty, and perseverance toward a particular goal, cause, relationship, or belief. It involves making a conscious decision to invest time, effort, and resources.”

CORRAL’s staff and volunteers do not labor alone in this commitment – our donors partner with us, supporting the work that is needed to create remarkable outcomes. And many, as recurring donors walk alongside us each month, ensuring the resources necessary are available at every step of the journey – providing a sense of stability for CORRAL and those who need us most. These relationships are truly invaluable and mark a unique opportunity to establish long-term connections with those who acknowledge the importance of our mission.

Undoubtedly, nonprofits rely strongly on monthly donors as their consistent gifts bestow sustainability through a reliable and predictable stream of income. At CORRAL, this dedication helps us to stay focused on preparing each girl and her community with skills, resources, and opportunities so that she can gain access to a bright future. We never know when one of our teens will face a crisis – or when our facilities will require unexpected repairs – life happens. Knowing we have the consistent support of our monthly donors helps us to remain centered on the impact of our work during those “in between” moments.

Recurring gifts also provide the opportunity to plan more effectively. According to the National Philanthropic Trust, “This ability to plan is especially important for smaller and local organizations with fewer resources. A regular revenue stream throughout the year allows nonprofit staff to make more efficient use of time and resources” (National Philanthropic Trust, 2022).

Moreover, this ongoing relationship is valuable to the donor as well. It not only creates an opportunity for a deeper connection with CORRAL and its mission, but also establishes a more convenient process. “Instead of juggling important dates and deadlines or rushing to make those year-end donations, donors can let an automatic, recurring (gift) alleviate some of the stress of remembering when and where to donate in the already-busy holiday season”(National Philanthropic Trust, 2022).

"CORRAL has proven-effective holistic programming that facilitates learning and growth, emotional and mental well-being, and healthy relationship development. As 10-year volunteers who have had the privilege to walk alongside the CORRAL teens, we have seen time and again the unique role horses and community have in the transformation of our youth. We are grateful and honored to provide monthly financial support that ensures predictability and sustainability for CORRAL."

Currently, 17% of CORRAL’s donors are monthly donors – this year, our goal is to grow that number to 23%. Our board and staff recognize the commitment of those who make recurring contributions and are grateful for your investment and trust in our hard work and dedication – Thank you!

As we prepare for our annual giving campaign, we invite all of our donors to make a recurring impact at CORRAL by becoming a monthly donor.
