Grounded in Change: How CORRAL is Supporting Teens and Families Through Uncertainty

A lot has happened and a lot has changed so far in 2025. We know that change can be hard for our teens (and for everyone!). It can feel even more unsettling when it has the potential to affect daily lives and well-being—when it impacts the services and systems our families may rely on. It can be scary to face uncertainty about jobs, healthcare, or funding for work that makes a difference. It’s tough when those things feel out of your control.

This uncertainty reminds me a bit of COVID –  there’s a similarity in the feeling of unpredictability. At CORRAL, we remained grounded during COVID by focusing on the mission. We are here to provide support to the teens and families who need it most. This is what we do day to day, and it’s what we did during the pandemic.

Our community loves these girls and believes that pouring into them is worth it!

During COVID, we fully shifted our program to meet the needs of the teens during those strange times of pandemic life. That big of a shift won’t be needed now, but we are ready and equipped to support our families with any change that may come. We do this every day, whether it’s working with a family to find a therapy modality that works, helping out when a parent’s car breaks down, shifting to virtual schooling during snow days, or stepping up when a family experiences loss or hardship. We do all this so that our teens can have access to support despite what’s going on in the world.

And, we are able to do this because we have a community. We have a team of 153 consistent volunteers, 486 one-time volunteers from workdays and corporate groups, over 600 donors, and over 50 foundations/companies that support CORRAL! We have a community that wants to step in and fill those gaps—and they do! We are so grateful for those folks near and far who show up in whatever way they can. Our community is consistent because they love and believe in the CORRAL teens.

As things continue to change around us, we will keep sharing the needs of the CORRAL participants and families. We will ensure that people know we will be here no matter what. We invite the current community to continue supporting these amazing teens.

CORRAL is the boots on the ground, making sure our participants and families don’t get left behind.

I’m hopeful for our future and what God will do in this community! If you would like to join us, please visit our website to learn more about volunteering and giving opportunities.

With Gratitude,
Lauren Clements
