Breed: Pocket-sized Pony (Alchemy is not a miniature horse! Common misconception.)
Birth Year: 2004
Joined CORRAL: 2018
Bound for a slaughterhouse, Alchemy was saved by the NC State Vet School. Before rescue, his tiny hooves grew into long “elf shoes.” NC State students treated his damaged feet and other symptoms of his severe neglect. While healing, he helped with medical studies and donated blood to help other horses.
When the research project ended, Alchemy needed a new home. Luckily, a CORRAL volunteer recommended the school send him our way! He’s been here ever since.
Students must work to keep Al focused. When they do, he loves playing and practicing skills. As a master escape artist, he loves adventuring to find his friends – especially when he’s supposed to be working. He knows when his partner is frustrated (when that happens, he’s won). His sense of humor teaches us to not sweat the small stuff.
